It’s competition time

Conspiracy examiners such as myself often come across indications that people are putting out certain subliminal messages in the hope that your mind is steered in a certain direction to feel favourable to what they side with.

Play the game using the images below to see if you share the same affliction as myself. A totally unfounded one of course – one that suggests it’s just me and I’m plain bonkers.

Hi, you left a comment about one of my comments over at Stef’s blog and I’d promised him that I wasn’t going to fill up anymore of his comment space with tit-for-tat nonsense and I’ll follow that rule over here but I will respond your comment.

Your rather lengthy response was based on the idea that: “I think your falling foul of the common error. You are attributing the distortions and manipulation of religion as ‘religion’.” In other words humankind has manipulated religion for its own good, well yes because religion is manmade as there is no God but the idea that if humankind didn’t fuck it about it would somehow be okay is plainly wrong, all the major faiths and many of the new ones are full of backward thinking, violence and repressive behaviour towards people not in that religion. That is not humankind twisting God’s word, rather God’s word is terribly flawed in the first place. Please see the Bible, Torah and Koran for reference

Religion holding back science is a fact, please see Galileo, Darwin, Einstein, Hawkings and pretty much any scientist that has challenged relgious thinking; which is all of them. I think you’ll find, based on the last study I read, most scientists are at best agnostics, science and the idea that the earth is 3000 years old don’t really mix and if you don’t believe that the earth is 300 years old then you’re not religious at all.

“religion holds together and justifies those ideas in the first place.” – that is totally false. I don’t know what religion you’ve been studying but I respectfully advise you to expand your horizons somewhat.” BTW, that is based on the Bibie, the Koran and the Torah, the divine scriptures you speak of, all of which are horrible, vile little diatribes against humankind that approve of violence, torture and slaves.

Harmony will never come from these organs of divide and conquer.

Clearly, as someone who believes in a God and that this God listens to you and has made this world in 6 days and whatnot, it is hard to throw all that thinking away, it is a grand crutch to keep you propped up but try to live without it, it’s very wonderful to see that heaven is on earth and that there is no one listening to your prayers.

    Thanks for replying.

“because religion is manmade” – There you go again. It seems deliberate this time, seeing as your error has already been highlighted.

Religion is a code of life from God. That it’s been largely hijacked doesn’t give you grace to misrepresent it. Please draw the distinction. Otherwise you make yourself look silly.

Sorry my previous 526 words were a bit lengthy for you.

I will reply to your post later – I’ve got to go now.

I don’t see why on StefZ’s blog you rapidly decided not to engage in what could have been a good discussion, rather than initiating of the same old beginnings of conversations akin to what you find in pubs week in week out, and you don’t do it justice by calling it “tit-for-tat nonsense” because someone has a view contrary to yours.

“there is no God” only provable by undertaking a leap of faith into rejectionism as opposed to a leap of faith in acceptance as theists do, but at least theists have a good basis for their leap – that of divine scripture, whereas disbelievers have…..(?).

The stance of agnostics is understandable even respectable, as embedded in their thinking is acceptance of the limitations of knowledge and man in general, while rejectionists tend to exhibit selectivity of prejudices which only seek to reinforce their preconceptions.

“the idea that if humankind didn’t fuck it about it would somehow be okay is plainly wrong” – Naturally I hold that expression is plainly wrong.

“all the major faiths and many of the new ones are full of backward thinking, violence and repressive behaviour towards people not in that religion.” – Once again you plaster the ‘distortion of religion’ onto religion. The major faiths do NOT espouse oppression of others.

“God’s word is terribly flawed in the first place.” That statement is frankly silly. A characteristic of God is flawlessness. I find your blame of God rather than man for worldly strife frankly nonsense.

“Religion holding back science is a fact, please see Galileo, Darwin, Einstein, Hawkings and pretty much any scientist that has challenged relgious thinking;” – You don’t seen to read what I wrote about this earlier. I am a scientist and it doesn’t hold me back, despite what anti-theists would like to present us as doing. It didn’t hold back the famous scientists, mathematicians and philosophers of times past either. Actually critiques of religion from any angle are to welcomed, because if God does exist, those criticisms will reveal a distortion within the religion, but you are on seriously shaky ground if you take the work of ANY scientist as your divine scripture.

“based on the last study I read, most scientists are at best agnostics” – Would you please supply a reference to that? Thanks.

“science and the idea that the earth is 3000 years” – Who says that? I get the feeling you are adopting a figure like Joseph Kony or L. Ron Hubbard as a representative of all religion. Clearly that is preposterous. I don’t have reason to believe the earth is 3000 years old or 300 years old. That’s rather straw-manish of you.

“All you are doing is replacing religion with the idea that people do everything for money and land, whereas religion holds together and justifies those ideas in the first place.” – I said that is totally false because religion does not justify doing everything for money or land. That is why you should try reading about religion rather than criticise it from a facile (mis)knowledge. Where in the “that is based on the Bibie, the Koran and the Torah” are we to find that?

“Harmony will never come from these organs of divide and conquer.” – And if you believe it will come from man (the same man you said created religion in the first place) then I have some very bad news for you.

“that this God listens to you and has made this world in 6 days and whatnot” – Well, I don’t feel the need to believe God created the Earth in the 6×24 hours that you have decided to define, but even if it ware, I think there is just a wee chance God was capable. I believe God ‘listens’ but I don’t hold God is compelled to act on my requests, quite the reverse in fact.

Now you’ve had a go, let me return it by probing your belief that (without any evidence whatsoever) a cell spontaneously generated and how that cell produced life and about the numerous other utterly baseless hijacked-Darwinisms that is your religion.

“it is a grand crutch to keep you propped up” – In light of all the unresolved misunderstandings you’ve successively demonstrated, I can see why you would say such a thing.
