In an exclusive Shalom TV interview, US Senator Joseph R. Biden Jr. (D-DE) emphatically stated his commitment to the State of Israel, calling the country “the single greatest strength America has in the Middle East.”
Senator Biden further stressed that without Israel, one could only imagine how many battleships and troops America would have to station in the Middle East.
Meeting with Shalom TV President Rabbi Mark S. Golub in Washington, DC, the candidate for the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination said that it’s insulting for any American to suggest that Israel is somehow the cause of the war in Iraq.
“If, tomorrow, peace broke out between Israelis and Palestinians, does anybody think there wouldn’t be a full-blown war in Iraq? And, conversely, if Iraq were transported to Mars, does anyone think there would not be terrorism visited upon the Israelis every day?
“So let’s get it straight. Israel is not the cause of Iraq. Iraq being settled or not settled has nothing to do with Israel’s conduct.”
The Senator also expressed a sensitivity and empathy for Israelis who have had to live with terrorism.
“From 9/11, Americans can taste what it must feel like for every Israeli mother and father when they send their kid out to school with their lunch to put them on a bus, on a bicycle or to walk; and they pray to God that cell phone doesn’t ring.”
“I am a Zionist,” stated Senator Biden. “You don’t have to be a Jew to be a Zionist.”
Asked about Jonathan Pollard, sentenced to life-imprisonment for giving classified information to the State of Israel, Senator Biden opened the door to leniency, but not a pardon.

What should be done now with Jonathan Pollard?
SENATOR BIDEN: If we don’t want to play into the argument that Americans who support Israel have dual loyalties, then you can’t deal with Pollard. He has to serve his sentence. There’s a rationale, in my view, why Pollard should be given leniency. But there is not a rationale to say, “What happened did not happen and should be pardoned.”
I was raised by a righteous Christian. My father was a gentle man. He was a white collar worker, high-school educated but a student of history and a devoted supporter of Israel.
My father could not understand how people could fail to understand that without an Israel no Jew in the world was safe. He couldn’t understand how support for Israel could be translated into being un-American.
My worry is that, if I were president, to go and pardon Pollard would make a lie out of the notion that there are certain rules. Period. You cannot give classified information. Period. Even to a friend. If this were great Britain, it would be the same thing.
So the standard has to be maintained, in my view.

A Chabad man serves as the hazzan of a Chabad synagogue. Several years ago, outside another synagogue after a community event, the Chabad hazzan sexually assaults a woman who is a member of the Chabad synagogue. He is eventually arrested and pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of lewd conduct. He is sentenced, serves a very brief time, is given probation and community service.
Meanwhile, the victim civilly sues Chabad, in part because she claims Chabad sheltered the hazzan. Now Chabad has sought a judgment against the victim for more than $175,000 in attorneys’ fees, and a judge is about to grant that.
The Chabad? Las Vegas, Nevada. The Rabbi? She Harlig. The hazzan? Michael Segelstein. As Jewish Survivors notes:
Rabbi Harlig is attempting to sue a rape victim for attorney fees. This is a rape victim of a convicted sex offender who is on the national sex offender list.
Immediately after the arrest, Rabbi Harlig falsely claimed this victim – who worked in the synagogue’s kitchen – was not Jewish. She went to the RCA’s beit din. They investigated and found Rabbi Harlig’s claim false. The woman is the daughter of a Jewish holocaust survivor from Vienna, Austria. The beit din issued her a document verifying her Jewishness. But, during the time the beit din was investigating Rabbi Harlig’s false claims, this woman’s teenage son – a very active synagogue goer and participant – was forced to sit in the back of the synagogue. He was banned from receiving aliyot or leading services. And he was shunned by other members, as was his mother, apparently at the direction of Rabbi Harlig.
And the man who attempted to rape this woman? He is a proud member of Chabad to this day, leading services and fully participating in synagogue life.
A double standard? You bet it is. And that double standard is sanctioned by and orchestrated by Chabad-Lubavitch.

Feds raid kosher plant, allege illegal drugs, workers

NEW YORK – In laying the legal groundwork for a massive raid of the country’s largest kosher slaughterhouse, federal authorities cited claims that illegal narcotics production took place at the factory and hundreds of illegal immigrants were employed there, including several of the rabbis responsible for kosher supervision.
The charges were among the most explosive details to emerge after the raid May 12 at the Agriprocessors plant in Postville, Iowa.
Agents arrested 390 workers in what Immigration and Customs Enforcement called the largest raid of its kind in U.S. history.
The raid, which required federal authorities to rent an expansive fairground in nearby Waterloo to house detainees, prompted the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Iowa to temporarily relocate judges and court personnel to the site because the facilities in Cedar Rapids and Sioux City were inadequate.
“There have been other operations where more people have been arrested,” Tim Counts, an Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokesman, told JTA, “but as far as we can determine, this is the largest single-site operation as far as number of arrests go.”
The raid follows a six-month investigation involving more than a dozen federal agencies, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Internal Revenue Service, and the departments of labor and agriculture.
Three Israelis and four Ukrainians were among the detainees held on charges of being in the country illegally, Counts said. Officials are expected to bring criminal charges against some of the detainees as well, most of whom are from Guatemala and Mexico.
Agriprocessors said in a statement May 13 that it “takes the immigration laws seriously” and intended to “continue to cooperate with the government in its investigation.”
“Agriprocessors will also inquire further into the circumstances that led to these events,” the company said. “We extend our heartfelt sympathies to the families whose lives were disrupted and wish them the best. We are deeply committed to meeting the needs of all of our customers and are operating again today.”
In the affidavit filed as part of the 60-page application for a search warrant, additional details were revealed of the government’s investigation of Agriprocessors, a company that has been beset by numerous allegations of health and safety violations, mistreating workers and using controversial slaughter practices.
According to the document, a former supervisor at the plant – identified only as Source No. 1 – told investigators that some 80 percent of the workforce was illegal.
The source also said he believed rabbis responsible for kosher supervision entered the United States from Canada without proper immigration documents. According to the affidavit, the source did not provide evidence for his suspicions about the rabbis.
Source No. 1 also claimed to have discovered active production of the drug methamphetamine at the plant and reported incidents of weapons being carried there.
Methamphetamine, more commonly known as crystal meth, is illegal in the United States. The popular drug gives users a sense of energy and euphoria that can last for hours.
Agriprocessors employees told investigators that sometimes they were required to work nighttime shifts of 12 hours or more.
The affidavit says that 697 plant employees are believed to have violated federal laws.
With Agriprocessors producing more than half of the nation’s kosher meat, the raid has prompted fears of a disruption in supply. Though the plant was back in operation May 13, it was unclear if Agriprocessors could meet its normal production capacity with hundreds of its workers in federal custody.
Founded by Brooklyn butcher Aaron Rubashkin, Agriprocessors produces kosher meat and poultry marketed under the labels Aaron’s Best and Rubashkin’s.
The firm gained national attention in 2000 with the publication of the book “Postville,” which described the tensions between the company and the local community. The company has attracted a significant population of Orthodox Jews to a rural pocket of northeastern Iowa.
Agriprocessors did not respond to requests for comment from JTA. Asked if there was slaughter taking place May 13, a woman who answered the phone at the plant said, “We’re trying.”
The Des Moines Register reported that more than 100 cars were in the company lot the morning after the raid, but quoted a nearby business owner who said that foot and vehicular traffic to the plant was much lower than usual.
Rabbi Menachem Genack, the head of the Orthodox Union’s kosher supervision department – the largest outfit certifying the kosher status of Agriprocessors’ meat – told JTA that other companies had assured him that they could make up for any shortfall from the Postville plant.
Genack reiterated the O.U.’s policy of leaving matters of immigration and labor standards to the government.
“No one else has the resources to do what the federal government can do,” he said.
If the company turns out to be criminally liable, Genack said, that could be grounds for losing its kosher certification.
Genack said he was told by the plant’s supervising rabbi that two foreign rabbis working at the plant had failed to renew their work permits when they expired a few weeks ago. He described the issue as a “technical” violation and insisted the two rabbis had not been detained.
Much of the information the government collected appears to have come from former employees of Agriprocessors who were detained by police on unrelated charges. Sources related similar stories of presenting fraudulent documents and Social Security numbers when seeking employment with the company.
Agriprocessors has come under fire before for its labor practices, as well as health and safety violations. In March, authorities fined the company $182,000 for violations at the plant.
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals has clandestinely videotaped a controversial slaughter practice used at the plant.
In addition, an investigation by the Forward weekly newspaper revealed allegations that employees were underpaid and exploited. Agriprocessors officials denied the allegations.
Indeed, the attack on the USS Liberty, and the ensuing failure of the US political establishment to do anything about it, is a great stain on the American politbureau. The British did something silimar in Palestine when the Zionist terrorists detonated a bomb in the King David Hotel, murdering a number of British citizens. the British Government celebrated the coming to power of those criminals. It’s not terrorism when we do it.
Perhaps overall it isn’t as great a failing of the US political class to stop Zionism from grabbing it by the balls and dictating it’s foreign policy.

Bodoff lauded Reid for helping the federation receive its first federal grant for a retirement community. He also praised his support for Israel. However the real holocaust survivors suffer as the money that should go directly to them is given to Jewish Organizations who were never a holocaust victim. But Reid knows how to use those perceived flaws to his advantage, said Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman, who has known Reid for more than 40 years. Sure he has learned to help protect and violate Americans rights to shield and cover up for profit and power.
Reid’s unassuming demeanor may make people think he’s a pushover, but that’s far from true, Goodman said: “When you do business with him, he’s hard as nails.” As he has the Zionist to protect and stand up for him. The land deals prove this how he has Zionist control to do what he wants in America.

In May 2005, before a meeting of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, Reid told of his recent trip to the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial in Jerusalem. There, Reid said, he and his wife learned the fate of her father’s family, the Goldfarbs. “But we can not find any records to prove that by address trace as can be found in Europe. The names have never been proven that his wifes family are truly connected to this Goldfarb family connected to holocaust records which are around for proofs”.

We have been forsworn by G-d “not to enter the Holy Land as a body before the predestined time”, “not to rebel against the nations”, to be loyal citizens, not to do anything against the will of any nation or its honour, not to seek vengeance, discord, restitution or compensation; “not to leave exile ahead of time.” On the contrary; we have to be humble and accept the yoke of exile. To violate the oaths would result in “your flesh will be made prey as the deer and the antelope in the forest,” and the redemption will be delayed.

To violate the oaths is not only a sin, it is a heresy because it is against the fundamentals of our Belief. Only through complete repentance will the Almighty alone, without any human effort or intervention, redeem us from exile. This will be after G-d will send the prophet Elijah and Moshiach who will induce all Jews to complete repentance. At that time there will be universal peace.
All of the leading Jewish religious authorities of that era predicted great hardship to befall humanity generally and the Jewish People particularly, as a result of Zionism. To be a Jew means that either one is born to a Jewish mother or converts to the religion with the condition that he or she make no reservations with regard to Jewish Law. Unfortunately there are many Jews who have no inkling whatsoever as to the duties of a Jew. Many of them are not to blame, for in many cases they lacked a Jewish education and upbringing. On Feb 1, 1940 Henry Montor executive vice-President of the United Jewish Appeal refused to intervene for a shipload of Jewish refugees stranded on the Danube river, stating that “Palestine cannot be flooded with… old people or with undesirables.”

It is an historical fact that in 1941 and again in 1942, the German Gestapo offered all European Jews transit to Spain, if they would relinquish all their property in Germany and Occupied France; on condition that:
a) none of the deportees travel from Spain to Palestine; and
b) all the deportees be transported from Spain to the USA or British colonies, and there to remain; with entry visas to be arranged by the Jews living there; and
c) $1000.00 ransom for each family to be furnished by the Agency, payable upon the arrival of the family at the Spanish border at the rate of 1000 families daily.
The Zionist leaders in Switzerland and Turkey received this offer with the clear understanding that the exclusion of Palestine as a destination for the deportees was based on an agreement between the Gestapo and the Mufti.
The answer of the Zionist leaders was negative, with the following comments:
a) ONLY Palestine would be considered as a destination for the deportees.
b) The European Jews must accede to suffering and death greater in measure than the other nations, in order that the victorious allies agree to a “Jewish State” at the end of the war.
c) No ransom will be paid
This response to the Gestapo’s offer was made with the full knowledge that the alternative to this offer was the gas chamber.
These treacherous Zionist leaders betrayed their own flesh and blood. Zionism was never an option for Jewish salvation. Quite the opposite, it was a formula for human beings to be used as pawns for the power trip of several desperadoes. A perfidy! A betrayal beyond description!
In 1944, at the time of the Hungarian deportations, a similar offer was made, whereby all Hungarian Jewry could be saved. The same Zionist hierarchy again refused this offer (after the gas chambers had already taken a toll of millions).
The British government granted visas to 300 rabbis and their families to the Colony of Mauritius, with passage for the evacuees through Turkey. The “Jewish Agency” leaders sabotaged this plan with the observation that the plan was disloyal to Palestine, and the 300 rabbis and their families should be gassed.
On December 17, 1942 both houses of the British Parliament declared its readiness to find temporary refuge for endagered persons. The British Parliament proposed to evacuate 500,000 Jews from Europe, and resettle them in British colonies, as a part of diplomatic negotiations with Germany. This motion received within two weeks a total of 277 Parliamentary signatures. On Jan. 27, when the next steps were being pursued by over 100 M.P.’s and Lords, a spokesman for the Zionists announced that the Jews would oppose the motion because Palestine was ommitted.

On Feb. 16, 1943 Roumania offered 70,000 Jewish refugees of the Trans-Dniestria to leave at the cost of $50 each. This was publicized in the New York papers.
Yitzhak Greenbaum, Chairman of the Rescue Committee of the Jewish Agency, addressing the Zionist Executive Council in Tel Aviv Feb. 18 1943 said, “when they asked me, “couldn’t you give money out of the United Jewish Appeal funds for the rescue of Jews in Europe, I said NO! and I say again, NO!…one should resist this wave which pushes the Zionist activities to secondary importance.”
On Feb. 24, 1943 Stephen Wise, President of the American Jewish Congress and leader of the American Zionists issued a public refusal to this offer and declared no collection of funds would seem justified.
In 1944, the Emergency Committee to Save the Jewish People called upon the American government to establish a War Refugee Board. Stephen Wise testifying before a special committeeof Congress objected to this proposal.

During the course of the negotiations mentioned above, Chaim Weizman, the first “Jewish statesman” stated: “The most valuable part of the Jewish nation is already in Palestine, and those Jews living outside Palestine are not too important”. Weizman’s cohort, Greenbaum, amplified this statement with the observation “One cow in Palestine is worth more than all the Jews in Europe”.
And then, after the bitterest episode in Jewish history, these Zionist “statesmen” lured the broken refugees in the DP camps to remain in hunger and deprivation, and to refuse relocation to any place but Palestine; only for the purpose of building their State.
In 1947 Congressman William Stration sponsored a bill to immediately grant entry to the United States of 400,000 displaced persons. The bill was not passed after it was publicly denounced by the Zionist leadership.

Early in 1935, a passenger ship bound for Haifa in Palestine left the German port of Bremerhaven. Its stern bore the Hebrew letter for its name, “Tel Aviv”, while a swastika banner fluttered from the mast. Many years later a traveler aboard the ship recalled this symbolic combination as a “metaphysical absurdity”. In early January 1941 a small but important Zionist organization submitted a formal proposal to German diplomats in Beirut for a military-political alliance with wartime Germany. The offer was made by the radical underground “Fighters for the Freedom of Israel”, better known as the Lehi or Stern Gang. Its leader, Avraham Stern, had recently broken with the radical nationalist “National Military Organization” (Irgun Zvai Leumi – Etzel) over the group’s attitude toward Britain, which had effectively banned further Jewish settlement of Palestine. Stern regarded Britain as the main enemy of Zionism.
This remarkable proposal “for the solution of the Jewish question in Europe and the active participation on the NMO [Lehi] in the war on the side of Germany” is worth quoting at some length:
“The NMO which is very familiar with the goodwill of the German Reich government and its officials towards Zionist activities within Germany and the Zionist emigration program takes the view that:
1. Common interests can exist between a European New Order based on the German concept and the true national aspirations of the Jewish people as embodied by the NMO.
2. Cooperation is possible between the New Germany and a renewed, folkish-national Jewry.
3. The establishment of the Jewish state on a national and totalitarian basis, and bound by treaty, with the German Reich, would be in the interest of maintaining and strengthening the future German position of power in the Near East.
“On the basis of these considerations, and upon the condition that the German Reich government recognize the national aspirations of the Israel Freedom Movement mentioned above, the NMO in Palestine offers to actively take part in the war on the side of Germany.
“This offer by the NMO could include military, political and informational activity within Palestine and, after certain organizational measures, outside as well. Along with this the “Jewish” men of Europe would be militarily trained and organized in military units under the leadership and command of the NMO. They would take part in combat operations for the purpose of conquering Palestine, should such a front be formed.
“The indirect participation of the Israel Freedom Movement in the New Order of Europe, already in the preparatory stage, combined with a positive-radical solution of the European-Jewish problem on the basis of the national aspirations of the Jewish people mentioned above, would greatly strengthen the moral foundation of the New Order in the eyes of all humanity.
“The cooperation of the Israel Freedom Movement would also be consistent with a recent speech by the German Reich Chancellor, in which Hitler stressed that he would utilize any combination and coalition in order to isolate and defeat England”.

The excerpt is a literal translation of the letter the Jewish Rescue Committee in Czechoslovakia received from the Zionist “Jewish” Agency Executive Offices in Switzerland.
This was in reply to the call of the Jewish Rescue Committee for help, with documentary evidence furnished, concerning the fate of millions of Jewish people in Nazi occupied Europe.
“We are writing to remind you of the one factor of which you must never lose sight: that ultimately, the Allies will win the war. After their victory, territorial boundaries will be reshaped as they were after the First World War. Then, the way will be clear for our purpose at this time, with the war drawing to a close, we must do everything in our power to change Eretz Yisroel to Medinat Yisrael and many steps have already been taken in this regard. Therefore, we must turn a deaf ear to the pleas and cries emanating from Eastern Europe. Remember this: all the allies have suffered many losses, and if we also do not offer human sacrifices, how can we gain the right to sit at the conference table when the territorial boundaries are reshaped? Accordingly, it is foolhardy and brazen for us to negotiate in terms of money or supplies in exchange for Jewish lives. How dare we ask of the allied powers to barter money for lives while they are sustaining heavy casualties daily? So, insofar as the masses are concerned: RAK B’DAM TIHJE LANU HAAREZ, (Eretz Yisroel will be ours only by paying with blood), but as far as our immediate circle is concerned, ATEM TAJLU. The messenger bearing this letter will supply you with funds for this purpose”.
After I accustomed myself to the peculiar writing, I trembled when I realized the import of RAK B’DAM TIHJE LANU HAAREZ. But many weeks passed, and I was still confounded by the meaning of ATEM TAJLU. Until one day, it struck me. ATEM TAJLU meant “You escape”, for the word “tiyul” (walking trip) was used by them as a euphemistic code for “escape”. They meant to say – you fifteen or twenty “party members”, escape from Czechoslovakia and save your hides. The price of Eretz Yisroel is the blood of the men and women, hoary sages, and babes in arms – but not YOUR blood! Let us not spoil this plan by giving the Axis powers to save Jewish lives. But for you, comrades, I have enclosed carfare for your escape. What a nightmare! The Zionist agent “diplomat” comes to Czechoslovakia and says ‘Now is a very critical time. DES MOINES, Iowa: The owner and managers of the largest kosher meatpacking plant in the U.S. were charged Tuesday with more than 9,000 misdemeanors alleging they hired minors and had children younger than 16 handle dangerous equipment such as circular saws and meat grinders.
Two employees were also charged in federal court. The state and federal charges are the first against operators of the Agriprocessors plant in Postville, where nearly 400 illegal immigrant workers were arrested in May in one of the largest immigration raids in U.S. history.
The complaint filed by the Iowa attorney general’s office said the violations involved 32 illegal-immigrant children under age 18, including seven who were younger than 16. Aside from handling dangerous equipment, the complaint says children were exposed to dangerous chemicals such as chlorine solutions and dry ice.
The attorney general’s office said the violations occurred from Sept. 9, 2007, to May 12, 2008, when the plant was raided by immigration agents.
Charged are the company itself, Agriprocessors Inc.; plant owner Abraham Aaron Rubashkin; former plant manager Sholom Rubashkin; human resources manager Elizabeth Billmeyer; and Laura Althouse and Karina Freund, managers in the company’s human resources division.

Each defendant faces 9,311 counts — one for each day a particular violation is alleged for each worker.
“All of the named individual defendants possessed shared knowledge that Agriprocessors employed undocumented aliens. It was likewise shared knowledge among the defendants that many of those workers were minors,” the affidavit said.
Althouse and Freund also face federal immigration charges related to the raid and appeared in Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Cedar Rapids. Freund was charged with aiding and abetting harboring undocumented aliens, while Althouse was charged with conspiracy to harbor undocumented aliens and other counts.
The state charges are simple misdemeanors, each carrying a penalty of up to 30 days in jail and a $625 fine.
At a news conference Tuesday, Iowa Attorney General Tom Miller said the case is the largest of its type he’d handled in his 26 years as attorney general.
Chaim Abrams, a manager at the plant, said in a statement that Agriprocessors “vehemently denies” the allegations and “acted in good faith on the child labor issue.”
“All of the minors at issue lied about their age in order to gain employment at the company,” he said. They presented documents stating that they were over 18, he said.
But the attorney general’s office said the company encouraged job applicants to submit forged identification documents that contained false information about their resident status, age and identity.
Sonia Parras Konrad, an attorney representing more than 20 of the children, said her clients were as young as 14 when they started working at the plant.
“We don’t need to see any papers to see that someone is a child,” she said. “This was not one mistake, two mistakes, three mistakes, but many, many mistakes.”
Among the child labor violations were employing a child under age 18 in a meatpacking plant and employing a child under age 16 who operated power machinery or worked longer hours than permitted for someone that young.
In addition, the attorney general’s office said, the company’s records also show that employees were not paid for all overtime worked.

this is perhaps obvious but I feel it needs to be said… if such practices are done then of course (esp. the first and 2nd should be highlighted and denounced. The third one isn’t quite as serious, but still if exploitative then it’s wrong.
But none of this means all Jews should be tarnished with the same brush. Just like if Mohammad Atta, Mohammad Sidiqque Khan (MSK) did what there accused of, all Muslims shouldn’t be tarnished either.

According to Paul Ouderkirk, a priest in the church’s Hispanic ministry, residents of that building report having been suddenly threatened with eviction about a week before the end of May, on the grounds that the company needs to turn over the units to new Agriprocessors workers.
The company did not return calls for comment.…
It turns out Agriprocessors did send some food over to St. Bridget’s, the Catholic Church where many former Agriprocessors workers are hiding. But the operative word here is “some”:
…Agriprocessors has mostly kept a low profile since the raid, according to locals. While church workers say that the company sent over food initially, since then, Ouderkirk says, there has been “silence.” The church, though, has begun to see a stream of donations from Jewish communities outside Postville.
“We’re hearing from Jewish folks all over the country,” said Paul Real, a lay pastor in the Hispanic ministry. “They’re sending monetary contributions to the church.”…

Rubashkin promised the Gordon workers large bonuses and other perks to come to work in Postville. They came and then Rubashkin reneged. Some of those workers have quit and are now stranded in Postville. A common claim by these Gordon workers is that working conditions at Agriprocessors Postville were much worse than the Gordon plant. For example, some workers were forced to work 17 hour shifts, and is is unclear when or if they will be paid for all the work they did.
The Rubashkin family treats their workers like slaves, and by this I do not mean the way the Torah says to treat slaves – I mean the Rubashkins treat these poor people like slaves in the pre-Civil War South.
The Rubashkins – who are, despite the overwhelming evidence against them still honored members of the Chabad-Lubavitch community – along with all the rabbis and hangers on who covered for them all these years should be immediately spit out of the Jewish community.

On May 16, 2001, Lew allegedly exposed and touched his genitals repeatedly in front of an unrelated woman in his home.

His victim hit back with the civil suit. On March 18, 1994, a jury returned a verdict that ordered Lew to pay her and her husband, $1.43 million plus 10 percent annual interest.
While on probation Lew, who is married Lew married, traveled to Israel and England, and was ordained a rabbi. After his probation was over, Rabbi Pinny Lew took a position as Director of Chapel Hill Chabad House (Chapel Hill, NC). In November, 2001 he resigned under pressure, and the allegations of sexual misconduct were dropped.

There are no official numbers regarding the extent of prostitution and the traffic of women in Israel, but there is a general consensus that it is becoming more prevalent. (CEDAW Report). There has been a steady increase in the numbers of foreign women involved in prostitution who are arrested for illegal stays in Israel and who are detained before being deported to their home-countries; in over 95% of the cases, they were from the former USSR. The average time these women spend in prison is 50 days. The Israeli army demolished more homes in Palestinian villages in the occupied West Bank on Tuesday morning. The homes and property of Palestinian families in the villages of Hadidiya, Jiftlik and Furush Beit Dajan, in the Jordan Valley area of the occupied West Bank, were demolished.
Amnesty International’s researcher on Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories witnessed the demolitions. Donatella Rovera described the scene:
“In all the places, most of the people are children. These homes mostly have three generations – the grandparents, parents and children. In Hadidiya, there were four families, in Furush Beit Dajan, five families.
“All of the people have had homes demolished before, but this time they had no warning. The people were very, very upset. They were running to get their things out of their homes, but the bulldozer just went on demolishing.”
Soldiers of the Israeli army arrived early in the morning in jeeps accompanied by a bulldozer and then demolished the buildings where the four families were living. The destroyed properties belonged to Mohammed Fahed Bani Odeh, Mohammed Ali Shaikh Bani Odeh, Ali Shaikh Musleh Bani Odeh and Omar ‘Arif Mohammed Bisharat and their families – at least 34 people, including some 26 children.
After destroying these homes, the soldiers moved on to destroy homes and livelihoods in Jiftlik and Furush Beit Dajan, where homes have previously been demolished in recent months.
“In Jiftlik, they are destroying a farm – it is one of the rare farms here and there is otherwise not much livelihood for the people. They first bulldozed the vegetable area a couple of months ago; then they bulldozed the home last month,” said Donatella Rovera.
“The family of Mahmud Mat’ab Da’ish, his wife and seven children were given a tent by the Red Cross and they started planting vegetables again. Today, the army has been bulldozing the green plants.

For a state such as Nevada, which theoretically elects judges, Clark County has a lot who arrived on the bench by appointment. A “de facto” appointment system, created by practice, not the state constitution, already exists, some observers say.
In Clark County District Court today, 12 members have been appointed just since Guinn’s first term as governor began in 1999. Data on earlier appointments of present incumbents was not available.
District court judges who start as appointees seem to do well in the eyes of attorneys who took the recent survey. Nine of the 12 most recent appointees landed in the survey’s 25 top judges, as determined by overall retention rating. The survey covered 68 judges and justices in various courts.
The nine, in order from highest down, are David Barker, Allen Earl, Douglas Herndon, Arthur Ritchie Jr., Jennifer Togliatti, Timothy Williams, Elissa Cadish, Elizabeth Gonzalez and Michael Villani. The three district court appointees who did not make it into the top 25 were Kenneth Cory (rated 36th), Valorie Vega (53rd) and Michelle Leavitt (55th).
The state Legislature’s next session will determine whether a pending proposal to switch to appointing judges advances. Called Senate Joint Resolution 2, the proposal needs to be passed once more by legislators in order to go to a general vote in 2010.
But Nevada voters have not looked kindly on giving up their right to pick judges, turning down similar ballot questions in 1972 and 1988. Tuan Samahon, on the UNLV law school faculty, wonders whether a future ballot would turn out differently, based on the recent influx of Democrat voter registrations in the state, as well as wave of negative publicity about Nevada judges, including a 2006 series in the Los Angeles Times.

Racial or ethnic profiling is nothing new. In the wake of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, Arabs and Muslims in America are often the targets of ethnic profiling, despite the argument that racial and ethnic profiling runs contrary to American values. Counterterrorism strategists argue that targeting particular ethnicities or races during investigation is a more efficient way to catch perpetrators. They may also argue that while not all Arabs and Muslims are terrorists, all the terrorists who attacked us on Sept. 11 were Arabs or Muslims.
Yet the greatest damage done by this practice is not violation of civil liberties but this: Profiling doesn’t work.
A recent study on a secret Department of Homeland Security operation code-named “Frontline” and spearheaded by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, revealed damning evidence against the use of ethnic or racial profiling in counterterror operations.
Operation Frontline was designed to “detect, deter and disrupt terror operations” among immigrants during the months leading up to the presidential election.
An analysis of data obtained from the Department of Homeland Security through a lawsuit showed that an astounding 79 percent of the targets investigated were immigrants from Muslim-majority countries.
This policy was exposed by the numbers, despite numerous reassurances from DHS that racial, ethnic and religious criteria were not the basis of its investigations.
The number of arrests made under national-security related charges? Zero.
To put this in context, immigrants from Muslim countries were 1,280 times more likely to be targeted for investigations than immigrants from other countries. Despite that, not one national security-related charge was levied, even though the investigation targeted hundreds of immigrants who “fit a terrorist profile.”
One would think that such a massively inefficient policy would serve as a lesson for other law enforcement agencies. Yet the FBI is about to begin operating Dec. 1 under new attorney general guidelines that allow ethnic background, race and religion to be part of the criteria for launching investigations. This is a policy that flies in the face of everything we’ve come to know about the efficiency of racial profiling.
Racial and ethnic profiling is a genuine and important national security concern. Criticizing racial profiling can no longer be characterized by the right as the policy of dovish, immigrant-loving liberals. We know now that every dollar spent targeting innocent Arabs or Muslims could have been spent developing or following legitimate leads.
The Obama administration and the new Congress should make a legislative priority to ban racial profiling, without the loopholes that exist today, from all levels of law enforcement. The federal government should institute a system of data collection to ensure racial profiling is not being conducted illegally.
The End Racial Profiling Act would do just that, and is long overdue. As Operation Frontline and other operations have made clear, racial profiling is not aiding counterterrorism efforts but instead, unfortunately, impeding them.
This is not a Conspiracy it was a Conspiracy to commit a crime of murder against our Americans Military.

Reports of last week’s Federalist Society dinner in Washington, where Attorney General Michael Mukasey fainted at the conclusion of his speech, mentioned that a “heckler” briefly disrupted the speech.
“Tyrant, you are a tyrant,” the man said, before being shouted down by other attendees. Soon after, the man left the room. There is no reason to believe the outburst helped cause Mukasey’s collapse, which occurred 15 minutes later. Mukasey, of course, was given a clean bill of health and released from the hospital the next day.
Later, reports James Taranto of OpinionJournal.com, Wendy Long of the Judicial Confirmation Network identified the heckler as Justice Richard B. Sanders of the Washington state Supreme Court.
The Law Blog on Monday caught up with the 63-year-old Sanders (pictured, right). Sanders didn’t confirm that he was the one who shouted at Mukasey, but didn’t deny it, either. He said he had “no comment except to say that having reviewed the video of the speech” on the Federalist Society’s web site, “it doesn’t appear that whatever was said was heard by [Attorney] General Mukasey. I left the dinner before the General unfortunately collapsed.” He added that “in my mind a heckler is someone who is making repeated comments audible to the speaker [and] you’ll see that that just didn’t happen.”

151 Congressmen Derive Financial Profit From War
Blood money stains the hands of more than 25% of members of the U.S. House and Senate

Who profits from the Iraq war? More than a quarter of senators and congressmen have invested at least $196 million of their own money in companies doing business with the Department of Defense (DoD) that profit from the death and destruction in Iraq.
According to the latest reports, 151 members of Congress invested close to a quarter-billion in companies that received defense contracts of at least $5 million in 2006. These companies got more than $275.6 billion from the government in 2006, or $755 million per day, according to FedSpending.org, a website of the watchdog group OMBWatch.
Congressmen gave themselves a loophole so they only have to report their assets in broad ranges. Thus, they can be off as much as 160 percent. (Try giving the IRS an estimate like that.) In 2004, the first full year after the present Iraq war began, Republican and Democratic lawmakers-both hawks and doves-invested between $74.9 million and $161.3 million in companies under contract with the DoD. In 2006 Democrats had at least $3.7 million invested in the defense sector alone, compared to the Republicans’ “only” $577,500. As the war raged on, so did the billions of profits-and personal investments by Congress members in war contractors, which increased 5 percent from 2004 to 2006.
Investments in these contractors yielded Congress members between $15.8 million and $62 million in personal income from 2004 through 2006, through dividends, capital gains, royalties and interest. Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) and Rep. James Sensenbrenner (R-Wis.), who are two of Congress’s wealthiest members, were among the lawmakers who garnered the most income from war contractors between 2004 and 2006: Sensenbrenner got at least $3.2 million and Kerry reaped at least $2.6 million.
Members of the Senate Foreign Relations and Armed Services committees which oversee the Iraq war had between $32 million and $44 million invested in companies with DoD contracts.
War hawk Sen. Joe Lieberman (IConn.), chairman of the defense-related
Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, had at least $51,000 invested in these companies in 2006.
Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.), who voted for Bush’s war, had stock in defense companies, such as Honeywell, Boeing and Raytheon, but sold the stock in May 2007.
Of the 151 members whose investments are tied to the “defense” (war)
industry, as far as we know, not one of them offered to donate their bloodstained profits to the national treasury to offset the terrible debt they have imposed. Has one of them even offered to donate one cent of their war profits to lessen the debt that increases more than $1 million a minute?

New SEC chief gave a devout Zionist Bernard Madoff’s son a job

Mary Schapiro, Barack Obama’s choice to lead the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), previously appointed one of Bernard Madoff’s sons to a regulatory body that oversees American securities firms.
It has emerged that in 2001, Ms Schapiro, currently chief executive of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (Finra), employed Mark Madoff to serve on the board of the National Adjudicatory Council — the division that reviews disciplinary decisions made by Finra.
Last week, Mark Madoff, with his brother, Andrew, were understood to have approached the authorities after their father apparently confessed to orchestrating a $50 billion securities fraud.
Mr Madoff is under house arrest in his $7 million Manhattan apartment and will be electronically tagged after he failed to secure further signatories to guarantee his $10 million bail.

However, the link with Mark Madoff may prove controversial for Ms Schapiro and the President-elect, who has moved fast to replace Christopher Cox, the current head of the SEC. The watchdog has came under fire for failing to detect Mr Madoff’s activities.
Earlier this week, Mr Cox admitted the regulator had repeatedly failed to follow up on tip-offs about Mr Madoff’s business dealings.
At the time of Mark Madoff’s appointment, Ms Schapiro was serving as president of the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD), according to the Wall Street Journal, which was consolidated with the New York Stock Exchange Member Regulation in 2007 to form Finra.
She has served as a commissioner of the SEC under three administrations since the 1980s: President Reagan appointed her in 1988, she returned for the first President Bush in 1989, and she was named acting chairman by President Clinton in 1993.
Ms Schapiro chaired the Commodities Future Trading Commission in the mid-1990s, during the downfall of Barings Bank, and first joined NASD in 1996 as president of regulation.
Mr Madoff was himself closely involved in NASD, the self-regulatory organisation for brokers and dealer firms, in the 1970s.
The NASD went on to found Nasdaq, the screen-based equity exchange, in 1971, and Mr Madoff became its chairman in 1990.
Mark Madoff began working at his father’s firm, Bernard L. Madoff Securities, in 1986. He was the third member of Mr Madoff’s family to join the business, following his uncle, Peter Madoff, and his cousin, Charles Wiener, son of Bernard’s sister, Sandra. Andrew Madoff, his younger brother, followed in 1988, and Roger and Shana, children of Peter Madoff, joined in the 1990s.
It emerged yesterday that Shana Madoff’s relationship with her husband, Eric Swanson, is at the centre of an SEC probe. Mr Swanson is a former SEC attorney.
In a profile of the Madoff family, published in 2000, Mark Madoff said: “What makes it fun for all of us is to walk into the office in the morning and see the rest of your family sitting there. That’s a good feeling to have. To Bernie and Peter, that’s what it’s all about.”

As a citizen of the United States, born here, with family roots here, and being neither Arab or Muslim but only a white, middled-aged male, I call on you as our country’s current leader to demand an immediate cease-fire by Israel, and a complete withdrawal from Gaza. To fail to do so is to be in violation of our country’s own laws.
Israel is in Violation of U.S. Laws
The U.S. Foreign Assistance and Arms Export Control Acts stipulates that U.S. defense items and services furnished to any country be used “solely for internal security,[or] for legitimate self defense”(22 U.S.C. 2302 and 2754).
Furthermore, according to U.S. law, “no security assistance may be provided to any country the government of which engages in a consistent pattern of gross violations of internationally recognized human rights.” (22 U.S.C. 2304).
Israel’s excessive and disproportionate use of force in Gaza clearly exceeds the bounds of what could be considered legitimate self-defense, and therefore its use of U.S.-supplied weaponry is in violation of the laws of this land.
• U.S. military aid to Israel is financing the Israeli occupation and invasion of Gaza. U.S. aid has helped Israel purchase machine guns, ammunition, precision-guided bombs and missiles, cluster bombs, night vision goggles, tanks, F-16 bombers, Apache helicopters gun ships, and armed and unmanned aerial vehicles—which are now being used against Palestinian civilians as well as militants.
• The United States recently delivered 1,000 bunker-buster missiles, worth $77 million, to Israel, which used them in Gaza on Saturday, Jan 3, according to The Jerusalem Post. These are not defensive weapons. That same day Israel flattened the American International School, one of Gaza’s best private educational institutions. It has also hit UN schools—one attack killed more than 40 civilians who sought shelter in the school. Is bombing schools legitimate self-defense?
• Is Israel’s siege of Gaza waged in self-defense? Is preventing food, clean water, medicine, and fuel from reaching 1.5 Gazans?
