In defense of Dr. Andrew Wakefield

I’m afraid I have no sympathy for megaPharma and much of the (ill)health racket industry profession. That will probably cloud my judgement, but if so, I suspect it would be clouded far less than if I was pro-megaPharma. [Note: I don’t have much respect for economic aspects of my profession either, so don’t worry, it’s nothing personal]

In the same manner that I look up on GM food, i.e. it’s far better to avoid anything that has real and substantiated doubts of such potential seriousness, I feel it’s prudent to apply the same principle to Dr Wakefield of “MMR warning” fame.

VRAN stands in solidarity with international Vaccine Awareness and Autism groups in support of Dr. Andrew Wakefield who has been ruthlessly persecuted by the medical industry and the media since 1998 when he and colleagues published a small case study of 12 children whose parents reported that some of their children’s mental/behavioural regression and bowel disease followed MMR vaccine.

While the study did not claim to prove that the triple live virus MMR vaccine causes autism, Dr. Wakefield offered a cautionary recommendation that until more studies are done, a safer alternative was to give single measles, mumps and rubella vaccines spaced out over time. In retaliation, the British government withdrew availability of single vaccines, forcing parents to either accept MMR or not vaccinate at all.  In recent years both Canada and the U.S. have also withdrawn availability of single vaccines, effectively eliminating parental choice.

A furious medical establishment saw Wakefield’s study and recommendations as a threat to the almighty vaccine program and hit back with a stream of vindictive moves that culminated in the 2010 censure of Dr. Wakefield by the U.K.’s General Medical Council (GMC), removal of his license to practice medicine, and retraction by The Lancet of his 1998 case study.

Now, monopoly medicine’s big guns have declared all out war, this time trying to smear Wakefield with accusations of fraud in a British Medical Journal article by freelance journalist Brian Deer. Deer has been on a mission to discredit Wakefield for years. His attack article is an opinion piece that “doesn’t focus on the scientific finding of whether or not autistic children have inflammation in their gastrointestinal tract, which I believe is the crux of the original paper”, notes research scientist Professon Richard Deth.  His comments and a series of in depth reports from international authors examining the medical politics that have fuelled the Wakefield witch hunt, and why the autism/vaccine link remains a deep concern for growing numbers of parents are available on the Age of Autism website: http://www.ageofautism.com/

As early as 2001, Dr Peter Fletcher MB BS PhD, a former Principal Medical Officer with the Department of Health who served as Medical Assessor to the Committee on Safety of Medicines said that, “With all the benefits of hindsight, what may now be said about the decision to grant a Product Licence to MMR 10 or so years ago? Evidence on quality and efficacy was probably adequate so a decision had to be made on grounds of safety. Being extremely generous, evidence on safety was very thin. Being realistic there were too few patients followed up for insufficient time. Three weeks is not enough….. neither is 4 weeks.”

And in a 2006 Daily Mail article Dr. Fletcher said, “The refusal by governments to evaluate the risks properly will make this one of the greatest scandals in medical history”. He said he has seen a “steady accumulation of evidence” from scientists worldwide that the measles, mumps and rubella jab is causing brain damage in certain children. But he added: “There are very powerful people in positions of great authority in Britain and elsewhere who have staked their reputations and careers on the safety of MMR and they are willing to do almost anything to protect themselves.”

The persecution of Andrew Wakefield is part of a strategy to cover up the fact that British medical officials failed to adequately safety test MMR vaccine when it was introduced in 1988 or to warn parents that it contained a reactive Urabe strain mumps vaccine.  Unbelievably, they purchased the reactive MMR vaccine that injured scores of children, knowing full well that Canada and the U.S. had abandoned its use earlier because it caused meningitis in a number of children. Prior to Andrew Wakefield raising MMR concerns, there were already hundreds of British families litigating in a class action suit over their children’s MMR vaccine injuries

One month after Dr. Wakefield’s 1998 paper, a study of vaccine injury claims by US government scientists in the journal Pediatrics found that 48 claimants developed encephalopathy (brain inflammation) within 15 days after receiving an attenuated measles vaccine, resulting in severe neurological sequelae, permanent brain injury or death. The study reviewed the medical records of affected children over a 23 year period from 1970-1993.

Initially, a total of 403 claims of encephalopathy and/or seizure disorder after measles, MR, MMR, mumps or rubella vaccination were identified during the 23 year period.  The studied narrowed its review to 48 eligible children.

“A total of 48 children, ages 10 to 49 months, met the inclusion criteria after receiving measles vaccine, alone or in combination. Eight children died, and the remainder had mental regression and retardation, chronic seizures, motor and sensory deficits, and movement disorders. The onset of neurologic signs or symptoms occurred with a nonrandom, statistically significant distribution of cases on days 8 and 9.” –Pediatrics, Vol. 101, No 3, March 1998.

The study authors concluded that, “This clustering suggests that a causal relationship between measles vaccine and encephalopathy may exist as a rare complication of measles immunization.”

Other earlier case reports have also found similar neurological complications following the administration of live attenuated measles vaccination.  A 1973 review of 84 patients with the onset of neurological disorders within 30 days (1963 to 1971) was noted in the 1998 Pediatrics study along with other reported clusters of persistent brain inflammation and death following measles vaccination.

A January, 2010 Pediatrics Medical Consensus Report acknowledges that bowel illness is far more common in autistic children.  “Gastrointestinal disorders and associated symptoms are commonly reported in individuals with ASDs, but key issues such as the prevalence and best treatment of these conditions are incompletely understood.” (Pediatrics Vol. 125. Supplement Jan. 2010.

VRAN maintains that vaccines carry a risk of injury and death, that vaccines can cause brain inflammation and injury in susceptible individuals.  It is medically well known that brain inflammations caused by disease or vaccines can trigger seizures, neurological disorders and autistic behaviours.  Since the Wakefield paper, clearcut evidence has emerged that a syndrome of brain injury, and death sometimes occurs after children are injected with live attenuated measles or combination measles, mumps & rubella vaccine.

We stand with the National Autism Association(NAA), Age of Autism in the U.S. and Child Health Safety in the UK who are very concerned that the medical community has no answer as to what is driving the autism epidemic amongst today’s highly vaccinated North American and British children, yet attack anyone who draws attention to the plight of individuals who succumb to neuroimmune disorders following vaccination.

In Canada, Autism Montreal founder Carmen Lahaie tells parents to be prudent when it comes to vaccines. Her son was diagnosed with bowel disease and autism. Another mother, Évelyne Claessens, who wrote a book about curing her son of autism stopped the vaccine schedule for both her children after her eldest, now 7, developed autism spectrum problems at 18 months.

Parents like Claessens and Lahaie say they see Wakefield as a victim of a medical industry conspiracy rather than as a fraud. “We are hundreds of thousands of mothers crying the same thing around world – that vaccines made our children autistic and no one wants to listen to us,” said Claessens in a Montreal Gazette article recently.

The NAA reported that, “One in 64 British children and one in 110 children in the US are now diagnosed with autism.  Increasing rates of autism in children are out of control”, said NAA spokesperson Wendy Fournier.  “Despite this pandemic, health officials and medical professionals continue to bury their heads in the sand while children and families suffer. The link between vaccines and the development of autism in susceptible individuals is not going away, because the children are not going away.”

While the Public Health Agency of Canada admits that, “Data on the prevalence of learning disabilities among Canadian children are not readily available at the national level”,  and does not specify the number of children affected by Autism Spectrum Disorders, we have no reason to believe the statistics would be very different from the U.S.  PHAC does indicate from a 2004 analysis that, “as many as 15% of Canadian children and youth are affected by a mental disorder at any given time”, and that, “The prevalence of pervasive developmental disorders, including autism, Rett syndrome and Asperger syndrome, is estimated to be between 27.5 and 70 per 10,000 children aged 1 to 14 years.”

The National Autism Association press release stated that,  “In recent years, US Federal Vaccine Court has conceded multiple times that immunizations have led to cases of autism, or “autistic-like” symptoms, and multiple sub-symptoms associated with the disorder. According to the US Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) in 2008, 1322 cases of vaccine injury compensation settled out of court by the US Government in unpublished settlements.  According to a statement from HRSA: “We have compensated cases in which children exhibited an encephalopathy, or general brain disease.  Encephalopathy may be accompanied by a medical progression of an array of symptoms including autistic behavior, autism, or seizures.”

The vicious persecution of Dr. Wakefield doesn’t change the facts on the ground –  that tens of thousands of children in North America and the UK have suffered varying degrees of neurological injury following the injection of multiple vaccines including MMR, that autism numbers are increasing as young babies are subjected to as many as 8 or 9 vaccines at the same time, and that independent studies comparing the long term health outcome of fully vaccinated children and unvaccinated children have never been done.  Until such studies are done, no one can claim that vaccines are risk free.

We are very concerned that unlike the U.S. and UK,  there is no compensation system for vaccine injury victims in Canada (except province of Quebec).  As well, the legal bar is set so high that vaccine injury victims attempting litigation cannot obtained Court awarded damages in this country.

There is certainly a case for music/movie/software companies to get payment for their goods. In that context, pirated electronic media has an element of ‘wrongness’ about it – especially if you can afford to pay a fee for its use. But this, in todays ‘commercial porn’  world – were it seems, every human action must now be accompanied by a financial transaction – is just about the only side of the story you hear.

What about the poor, why should they be denied access to this stuff – by what moral force can they be denied something (that they may find useful) simply because they don’t have money? Instead of money-making the world go around, shouldn’t morality make the world go around instead? Strongly connected to that is altruism accompanying morality.

And what about these companies who demand extortionately high prices for their goods e.g. the very pants Nightmare On Elm Street (Original) “JUST £6.99”, or companies trying to force people to essentially buy a new copy of their software (/licence) for every HDD it’s installed on or every CPU that accesses it? My opinion is if you buy the software, you are entitled to use it wherever you are, or once you’ve bought it, allow anyone you choose to use it or see it, much like your kitchen scales, or radio or padlock or whatever.

Then of course we have big companies, e.g. Micro$oft,  who make newer products which have compatibility issues with older versions, e.g. Microsoft Office 2007 and 2004 {Note the .<   >x ‘reader patch’ for software that only understood ‘non-x’ed’ .<   > is a minimalist attempt to quell anger. The minimalism gives annoying layout differences which of course could easily be negated should the correct level of effort and sophistication be provided by the patch, but the patch HAS to be minimalist because it would otherwise have negative economic consequences on the latest version – sly sods}.   Pulling the plug of ‘technical support’ on older versions of software has some effect of ‘fear-ing’ large institutions into going for the upgrade which of course then puts the squeeze on individuals to have the same upgraded system that their work place has. Having said that, it is true that things like Windows 98 has large publically available information of tweaks/bugs/patches/troubleshooting and so on, but with information spam and in effect growing phishing-like sites on the web, increasingly often good information is difficult to find.

All that sucks!

A long time ago, I purchased Netscape Navigator. A week or two after I did that, it was announced that it was to become open source – i.e. free. I cannot imagine that the decision to do this only came in period from when I bought the software up until the time they made the announcement. I felt very cheated. I seem to remember complaining but they didn’t return any money. I suspect they wouldn’t return money of anyone who bought it 3 minutes before the announcement either.

Software and media companies are a bit like pharmaceutical companies. The economic balance is WAY TOO SKEWED IN THEIR FAVOUR. So If people pirate their stuff, they shoulder some of the blame.

Why not regulate what a media/software/pharmaceutical company can charge based upon the number of people who use it? And if these companies over charge, as most of them greedily do, then allow others to tap into the otherwise protected intellectual property of the product involved. A bit like South Africa threatening to make anti-HIV drugs outside patent laws?

The near-total commercialisation of life is horrible. In that sence It gives me a certain pleasure when I hear of (poor)people using pirate software/media.

Shots in the dark is a documentary asking questions of current wisdom of vaccination policy/formulation and suspected vaccine induced injuries. In this very powerful documentary, Barbara Loe Fisher says towards the end:

I believe the world is utterly corrupted.

Far too many people don’t care, don’t want to care and are too self-centered. I believe the necessity that fundamental ethics demands of us, to challenge this extraordinary decay in both physical and humanitarian civilisation, has essentially evaporated into the ether.

I am not holier than thou, and while I don’t have the very great and extra burden of responsibility that religious leaders have to fight the all these encompassing evils, relatively speaking, I think of these leaders as being much more guilty of cowardly neglect. This is made all the more stark given the number of other brave souls who refuse to act like spineless creatures but are not in a position of ‘authority’ (religous and otherwise) – see links below.

I am an optimistic pessimist:

My pessimism is seen from the fact I believe the world is decaying and is almost complete in that aspect. To me, any light at the end of the tunnel is merely a glint off the teeth from Dooms wide mouthed smile, but I am optimistic in that I gain hope from the possibility that my projections of doom are wrong.

Although I believe we are in a Stokesless freefall, that in no way gives me licence (you need to examine your own licences) to passively accept it. Absolutely not! I must resist for this is what gives life meaning. Resistance BTW includes maintenance of worship and rememberance of God as this is the key principle that under attack. Is it coincidental that the other day I witnessed a pro-Palestinian expressing a superb phrase, that bore resemblance to Descartes’ “I think therefore I am” which read “I resist, therefore I exist” – which is as every bit as profound as what Descartes said.

Me boring you, dear tiny readership (not forgetting the regular pro-Zionist governmental and Israeli spies}, is a result of me being pushed beyond yet another line in the sand having watched the ‘Shots in the Dark’ documentary above.

The documentary itself is great, as are the pro-info, pro-research, pro-choice via informed consent people who feature in it, but I feel quite bad when IMHO they cannot see what all this is pointing to. By ‘all this’ I mean the whole set-up of the global economic paradigm, vaccine industry, the research ‘establishment’ and the connected-surrounding legal and political structures. This is why I put the Barbara Loe Fisher quote at the top. The fact the vast majority of the pharmaceutical/FDA/Medical structure (and they are of course highly connected elsewhere) is so bad, it a clear sign the world is has gone ‘super critical’. People like Barbara are great for their tenacity, but still need to realise where we are headed.

Am I nuts? Am i paranoid? An I stupid? Perhaps I am all three, but so what? What does it matter? This place is going down, you better get used to it.

It’s implying that Yemen [yes YEMEN – the country, the coutry of 203,850 sq miles (527,970 sq km)]  has extremism in it,  the WHOLE country! If this implication isn’t delibate*, then the journalism presented is the culinary equivalent akin to a hard boiled egg. So now you think Yeme n is an exremist country what other propaganda alpha-waves enter your primed skull?

UK US. Hey, wait a minute. What the HELL does this have to do withthe UK?

But is it really an attempt to avoid saying “YOU SUCK” No. As aluded to before it’s an attempt to rope the UK in to the next phase of the War OF  Terror – one that I think has taken most of us by surprise. It superglue’s us to the United Snakes, or AmeriKKKa as it’s somethimes known. I think I might start thinking of it as Israyhells back yard, or playgroind…. or toilet! An Iraqi friend of mine told me today he thought the US in it’s collapse will break out into a civil war. I think he’s right. The battle lines will be divided roughly between the good decnt salt of the earth people who at some stage say through the rotten corporate mainstream media  and those on the other side that eats and drinks from the Zionist banquet. Unfortantely I think the Zionist side will win and the decent people massacred (ZioMurFeDo – the martial art: The way of the Zionist Murder Fest). Those that survive will be left separating sourting out scrap metal in the FEMA camps. You know the way the Americans (and Ozzies to a degree) are damn lazy and just steal names of places like NEW York, New Orleans, New Hampshire and so on? Well I wonder if there’s a FEMA camp in New Belsen, New Treblinka to New Auschwitz. If not then in some odd way, perhaps there should be. They could twin with any three towns in the Gaza strip. They might have to forgo mutual sighseeing though – and food and water and medicine.

Getting back to “UK US” Not only that, but the question has buried in it some kind of “right” like a moral right or a human right or even a legal right to ‘sort out’ Yemen.

Man, this British BBC junk just gets worse and worse. Bury the BBC before it buried you.

Next the Swin(dl)e Flu… bt actually no comment is needed really. The headline summaries the con pretty well. Yes people died and so its orignins MUST be investigated in the public area and by independent investigators. But of course, this ain’t gonn happen. Wonder what the next lab modified virus wull be and when they will release it, supported by a whoreporate mainstream media announcing early on ‘200 dead’ and then blame others for scaremongering other than themselves. Oh, we’re back to the BBC and its newz again. And maybe next time, they’ll discuss its bird/pig.human make-up having allowed a few days to ‘discover’ its genetic charasteristcs from the time they sent it for analysis – unlike last time. hey guess what… were back at the BBC again!

Phlu(ey) of the Swine Kind

Re: so called novel (A)H1N1 (or pandemic H1N1 as the WHO now calls it).

The WHO says: “many countries have stopped counting individual cases”[1]

This is just one indication that the swine flu is an enormous scam.

Even an idiot would realise if you have a dangerous potentially killer virus, you would do all you can to monitor it (especially in the developing phases) to as high a level of precision and accuracy as possible. Doing so gives invaluable data on its virulence, infectivity, pattern of behaviour to help develop a model so that other similar viruses in the future may be better understood. Last but certainly not least, you would do this to monitor how effective any applied treatment is!

What a sub-idiot would do, is not record actual levels of novel (A)H1N1.

“Health officials say up to 30% of the population may become infected with swine flu, based on analysis of how this pandemic is spreading,”[1b]. See? attempts to keep statistics on it have been compiled for analysis.

There isn’t even an economic basis for not monitoring the declared pandemic, despite reports of the test for an expensive. (i.e. the nucleic acid sequencing procedure for (A)H1N1 – about which I have not been able to uncover any information). The reason why cost isn’t valid is that it’s a duty of Government to pull out all the stops to keep tabs on the virus and ensure the population is protected. How badly they do that isn’t really the issue.

The fact remains that a government could leglislate private companies to monitor it and fund activities to tackle it. They could also swing the resources of state health services to monitoring and action groups.

What are they doing instead? Buying large quantites of shockingly poorly tested vaccines from companies like Baxter with an apalling record of operations standards, fast tracking the vaccine, allowing/encouraging/doing all sorts of junk press releases, and granting those companies immunity from prosecution. All that is definately NOT acting in the interests of the people. It is in the interests of Big Pharma.

But the WHO still publishes (13 Nov 09) a global statistic of at least 6260 deaths from over 503536 cases. Which gives a death rate of 1.24% i.e. 1 death per 80 cases of infection.

That’s pretty low.

In those two weeks this gives another 149,000 prople with swine flu (estimated) giving a total of 359,333 people in just four weeks. That means 1 out of 166 people in the UK already had swine flu in just 4 weeks alone and they are non-continuous weeks too!!

OK. Now factor in the 182 deaths and assume they died beause of swine flu. What fatality rate is that based solely upon for weeks?

that’s one death per 1974, That’s 0.05%
Boing further, the BBC said “it’s reckoned that 620,000 people in England have now had swine flu… 182 deaths[2]
that gives a death rate of 1 in 3406. Thats 0.03%
Yet the WHO says[3] from update 75, 15 Nov 09 data (which remember it’s said nobody is counting anymore)  “over 526060” cases, there are “at least 6770” deaths. That’s 1.2% nearly 30 times greater than the UK figure.

How strange.

Government Concedes Vaccine-Autism Case in Federal Court – Now What?  David Kirby – Feb 2008

After years of insisting there is no evidence to link vaccines with the onset of autism spectrum disorder (ASD), the US government has quietly conceded a vaccine-autism case in the Court of Federal Claims.

The unprecedented concession was filed on November 9, and sealed to protect the plaintiff’s identify. It was obtained through individuals unrelated to the case.

The claim, one of 4,900 autism cases currently pending in Federal “Vaccine Court,” was conceded by US Assistant Attorney General Peter Keisler and other Justice Department officials, on behalf of the Department of Health and Human Services, the “defendant” in all Vaccine Court cases.

The child’s claim against the government — that mercury-containing vaccines were the cause of her autism — was supposed to be one of three “test cases” for the thimerosal-autism theory currently under consideration by a three-member panel of Special Masters, the presiding justices in Federal Claims Court.
