A hero, Muntadhar al-Zeidi, gets free.

Muntadhar al-Zeidi is a hero. He dared to do what hundreds of millions didn’t! He did what little he could to attack George Jackass dubya BuSh.

Shoes flying, Muntadhar al-Zeidi became an instant hero across the planet and deservedly so. Shame on those who sat on comfortable chairs in peaceful countries who criticised him for not throwing a bomb or a knife instead.

Muntadhar al-Zeidi, I shall never tire of saying and writing his name, knew what was going to happen to him after and his expecations weren’t to be disappointed. The puppet thugs beat the crap out of him and injured him, didn’t stop there.

Here’s a copy of an Al Jazeera (English) article about the freed hero Muntadhar al-Zeidi.

 Shoe-thrower flown out of Iraq

Muntadhar al-Zeidi, the television reporter jailed for throwing his shoes at George Bush, the former US president, has left Iraq after being released from prison.

He flew to Syria on a private jet on Tuesday, before heading to Greece where he will undergo medical treatment, Uday al-Zeidi, one of his brothers, said.

Celebrated release
After being released he was met outside the jail in Baghdad by parliamentarians who support his case, his brother, said.
The authorities had asked his family not to give him a hero’s welcome, but people celebrated outside his home in central Baghdad.

Al-Zeidi had initially been sentenced to three years for assaulting a foreign head of state, but had his sentence reduced to a year on appeal.

While throwing his shoes at Bush at a news conference in Baghdad in December 2008, he shouted: “It is the farewell kiss, you dog.”

Bush managed to duck the flying size 10 shoes.

Obama warning

Speaking on Tuesday, Al-Zeidi said: “At the time that Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki said on television that he could not sleep without being reassured on my fate … I was being tortured in the worst ways, beaten with  electric cables and iron bars.”

He said his guards had also used simulated drowning – the technique of waterboarding used by the US forces on suspects arrested over the September 11, 2001, attacks.

He told Al Jazeera: “I did this as a revenge for the victims and people killed in Iraq … now the new US politicians should deal with Arabs properly … as respectful counterparts not like slaves. I am neither afraid nor regretting what I did.”

“Today I am free again but my home is still a prison,” he added.

The US has kept its military presence in Iraq for six and half years since it led an invasion to remove Saddam Hussein, the former president.

Al-Baghdadiya showed footage of him arriving at the station wrapped in an Iraqi flag and wearing sunglasses. The staff slaughtered at least three sheep in his honour.

Uday al-Zeidi said: “I wish Bush could see our happiness. When President Bush looks back and turns the pages of his life, he will see the shoes of Muntadhar al-Zeidi on every page.”

Huge embarrassment

Mosab Jasim, Al Jazeera’s producer in Iraq, said: “I used to go to press conferences with Muntadhar. He’s a stable man, not that radical, so I was really surprised that he did that.

“I think that, as he was listening to George Bush and the achievements he said he’d made in Iraq, for an Iraqi man who’s been reporting on the suffering of the Iraqi people, I think he just couldn’t control himself.”

Although Bush laughed off the attack, it caused embarrassment to both him and al-Maliki.

The leaders had been speaking at a joint news conference on Bush’s farewell visit to Iraq prior to being succeeded by Barack Obama, then president-elect.

Al-Zeidi faces the prospect of a very different life from his previous existence at Al-Baghdadia, a small, privately owned Cairo-based station, which has continued to pay his salary in jail.

His boss has promised the previously little-known reporter a new home as a reward for loyalty and the publicity that his actions, broadcast live across the world, generated for the station.

Both ICH andAP articles are written by the same journalist but contain a number of differences.

Anyway… long live Muntadhar al-Zeidi and all those who walk in his shoes. May Allah(SWT) be happy with him.

ICH is one of the best geopolitical critical analysis collection sites on the web. It also links to many documentaries, interviews and other televisuals as well as news.

But it’s in trouble. For months now Tom Feeley, the guy behind ICH, has been appealing for donations to keep the site going. The appeals have been going for quite a few months now. The appeal (usually appears in the middle of the month) stops after a few days, but often, the last appeal page of the month indicates donations are quite far below the necessary level. Which I guess means: the necessary amount of donations falls short.

I can only guess why ICH puts the appeal focus on numbers of people not actual level of $ donation. Perhaps Tom has some set up where by a tranche of funding becomes available if a total of 343 donators are reached. Who knows. Tom, if by some tiny chance you read this, could you give us a brief insight into all this?

Anyway, If you don’t have money to spend (and b4 us ask, I have a monthly ‘subscription of $10 USD to ICH) just encourage others to read and donate what they can. The web without ICH would unquestionably be a much worse place. Please, help ICH stay afloat.

What will you say when independent news has finally gone?

Socalled ‘liberals’, conspiracy examiners and anti-NWO’ers certaily talk the talk, but less than 200 of them seem to walk the walk. Stop talking and damn well get walking. SITUATION CRITICAL !!! We already lost the treasure trove “nw0” of videos documentaries. To lose ICH would be a disaster.

Binyam Mohamed – Guantanamo victim of US and UK torture is released.

The US and UK habitually lie about their involvement in torture and kidnapping leading to torture (extraordinary rendition as it’s called). Their lies are utterly offensive to even the most simple observer of the news.

But the US and UK have ALWAYS lied about virtually all of the nasty things they have been involved with for over 100 years. Their lies have gotten so bad and so common that now, when I hear a government press statement, I automatically ‘reverse’ what they are saying and arrive much closer to the truth on many occasions.

Even today the pro-Zionist British Foreign Secretary (arguably the UK’s third-most powerful politician) who claims to be Jewish, said:

“The government abhors torture and does not order or condone it”source

A total lie of course. Lets do the ‘reverse’ exercise to get at the truth…

“The [British] government loves torture, and can’t practice it enough!” – David Milliband, decoded.

The former British Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Mr. Craig Murray, was sacked because he spoke out against torture and Britain’s involvement in it. And it’s not just on the torture issue where the Brits spout their evil lies. Here’s some more lies, exposed by my favourite journalist John Pilger, about the nightmare of the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia.

“I confirm,” Thatcher wrote to opposition leader Neil Kinnock, “that there is no British government involvement of any kind in training, equipping or co-operating with Khmer Rouge forces or those allied to them.” The lie was breathtaking. On June 25, 1991, the Major government was forced to admit to parliament that the SAS had been secretly training the “coalition”. source

I propose a new set of encyclopedia: “Encyclopedia ‘Lie Britannicia’ – one thing’s for sure the amount of material would in all likelihood fill numerous volumes.

It is a never ending source of deep frustration and anger that British people continue to support the wholly rotten establishment of British power (including that of the slimy Monarchy).

But lets get back to the torture issue. Binyam Mohamed was a victim of Guantanamo Bay torture prison, and is one of the latest people released – just a few days ago – and tells his story via his lawyer. Guantanamo Bay is of course, the prison which this very day is still torturing its captives, in defiance of anything remotely associated with humanistic values….  Worse Than My Darkest Nightmare

As I gain my freedom, I am determined that neither those who remain in detention, nor their abusers, are forgotten past.”

By Binyam Mohamed
binyam-mohamed

February 24, 2009 “The Guardian” – – I hope you will understand that after everything I have been through, I am neither physically nor mentally capable of facing the media on the moment of my arrival back to Britain. Please forgive me if I make a simple statement through my lawyer. I hope to be able to do better in days to come, when I am on the road to recovery.

I have been through an experience that I never thought to encounter in my darkest nightmares. Before this ordeal, “torture” was an abstract word to me. I could never have imagined that I would be its victim. It is still difficult for me to believe that I was abducted, hauled from one country to the next, and tortured in medieval ways – all orchestrated by the United States government.

While I want to recover, and put it all as far in my past as I can, I also know I have an obligation to the people who still remain in those torture chambers. My own despair was greatest when I thought that everyone had abandoned me. I have a duty to make sure that nobody else is forgotten.

I am grateful that, in the end, I was not simply left to my fate. I am grateful to my lawyers and other staff at Reprieve, and to Lt Col Yvonne Bradley, who fought for my freedom. I am grateful to the members of the British Foreign Office who worked for my release. And I want to thank people around Britain who wrote to me in Guantánamo Bay to keep my spirits up, as well as to the members of the media who tried to make sure that the world knew what was going on. I know I would not be home in Britain today, if it were not for everyone’s support. Indeed, I might not be alive at all.

I wish I could say that it is all over, but it is not. There are still 241 Muslim prisoners in Guantánamo. Many have long since been cleared even by the US military, yet cannot go anywhere as they face persecution. For example, Ahmed bel Bacha lived here in Britain, and desperately needs a home. Then there are thousands of other prisoners held by the US elsewhere around the world, with no charges, and without access to their families.

And I have to say, more in sadness than in anger, that many have been complicit in my own horrors over the past seven years {lwtc247’s emphasis}. For myself, the very worst moment came when I realised in Morocco that the people who were torturing me were receiving questions and materials from British intelligence. I had met with British intelligence in Pakistan. I had been open with them. Yet the very people who I had hoped would come to my rescue, I later realised, had allied themselves with my abusers.

I am not asking for vengeance; only that the truth should be made known, so that nobody in the future should have to endure what I have endured. Thank you.

This is the statement issued by Binyam Mohamed on his return to the UK.
